The Southern states, like Kentucky, are looking for methods to update the Southern Wildfire Risk Assessment communities-at-risk dataset. DTS is developing GIS models and techniques to achieve this by leveraging the DHS LandScan data.

The Council of Western State Foresters and the Western Forestry Leadership Coalition has embarked on a wildfire risk assessment of all lands in the 17 western states and Pacific islands. The project is referred to as the West Wide Risk Assessment.
