Safe Routes Map Application
Description:
The National Center for Safe Routes to School had been using a static PDF map to visualize the schools and projects they had been funding, but wanted a more interactive experience.
Our team designed a set of web applications which centered on the use of dynamic maps as a visualization tool. Through the use of ASP.NET MVC and a custom view engine, the web application detects the type of browser making a request, and then serves an optimized version. For example, when a user accesses the site on an iPad, a touch enabled version optimized for a tablet screen size is served up. Similarly, for Android and iPhones, a touch enabled version optimized for a smart phone screen is served.
Once the project was completed, our team then helped transition the web application and the associated ArcGIS services over to our client's infrastructure.
