Tahoe Intergrated Information Management System (TIIMS)
Description:
The TIIMS website acts as an information portal for scientists, citizens, agencies, and anyone who has a stake in the preservation of Lake Tahoe. DTS created a site tailor-made to the many functions required by the TIIMS team. There is a special areas of the site designated for researchers, including an in-depth document review tool that allows for page by page feedback which is stored in a database and a complex set of mapping tools with a geodatabase.
DTS also created tools for use by all levels of user, since it is important to the TIIMS team to get buy-in and input from all levels of the community from research scientists, to regional and national agencies and concerned citizens. A whole section of the site is devoted to learning, monitoring, and informational areas for the citizen user. Many sections of the site have CMS (Content Management System) back-ends to make the areas easy to administer and monitor without needing a programmer or inflexible proprietary software that is expensive to update. DTS also finalized the creation of a new logo and identity for TIIMS and assisted with the organization of public hearings and pilot projects for various aspects of the TIIMS site.
